“Where Science & Healing Strategies Meet”

Johanna Burke, MD

An integrative private practice rooted in longevity medicine and holistic psychiatric care, dedicated to helping individuals ages 30-64 show up daily with purpose, regulate stress and emotions, restore metabolic and hormonal balance, and reestablish nervous system resilience to improve health and extend lifespan.

I help high-achieving women during their fertility and perimenopause years who’ve done everything “right” but still feel anxious, drained, and out of sync transform their health by calming their minds, balancing their mood, and restoring vitality without polypharmacy or fragmented care.

I specialize in functional health and integrative treatments for depression and anxiety during the fertility and perimenopause years, including PMS, PMDD, the path to motherhood, fertility challenges, grief, postpartum changes, motherhood transitions, and the energy, mood, stress, and weight shifts of perimenopause and menopause.

As someone who beat the odds of infertility at 42 through integrative, holistic, and longevity-focused strategies, I understand firsthand that true healing often requires more than conventional medicine alone.

I intentionally keep my patient panel small so I can provide thoughtful, high-quality care. My practice is primarily virtual, offering telehealth visits throughout Massachusetts, with in-person appointments available in select cases. Spanish-speaking patients are always welcome—bienvenidos.

I’m a board-certified psychiatrist and integrative practitioner who believes your body is designed to heal. I help you tap into that inner capacity through self-leadership, self-trust, and a deeply integrative approach to lasting renewal.

I’m a resilience-builder, wife and a mom, passionate about women’s mental health, not just professionally, but personally. My own fertility journey deeply shaped the way I practice medicine today.

My work is rooted in the belief that true healing begins when we move beyond the “quick fix” or “magic bullet” approach and care for the whole person with compassion, nuance, and patience.

I believe the greatest medicine is learning that we don’t have to rely on medicine alone.

Is This You?

You’re successful on the outside, but inside you’re exhausted, anxious, and questioning your worth. Joy feels distant, self-doubt heavy, and holding it all together has become a burden. Perhaps you’re navigating career pressures, relationship strains, fertility challenges, cultural expectations, trauma, or the persistent fear of never being “enough.” The weight of it all is catching up.

Do you find yourself lying awake at night replaying worries, wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again? Have you tried different treatments, only to feel unseen, unheard, or stuck in the same cycle of distress?

You’re not alone. Many of my patients come to me carrying these same burdens, and together we work to find relief, resilience, and revitalization.

There is a path forward, and I am here to help you find it with care that honors both your story and your strengths.

Areas of Focus

  • You feel like you’ve been living in a haze. Getting out of bed in the morning feels difficult, and even everyday tasks seem like insurmountable mountains. It’s hard to care about the things you used to enjoy, and you find yourself feeling irritable with everyone.

I can help you feel more energetic, more motivated, and more like yourself, mentally lighter, and you want more than just a pill to address your concerns.

  • When you’re navigating the aftermath of trauma, each day can feel like an uphill battle. You may struggle to arrive on time, stay focused, meet deadlines, or keep things organized, and that’s completely understandable.

Trauma can also lead you to make decisions more impulsively as your mind and body cope with stress. You are not alone in this. Support can help you regain a sense of balance and control.

It’s important to know that you’re not alone in these feelings and that it’s possible to regain a sense of control and confidence. Imagine being able to plan with care, establish effective routines, and improve your time management skills in a way that honors your healing process.

  • It’s hard to function when your mind and body can’t find rest.

Sometimes, stress or emotional strain keeps the nervous system “on alert,” even when all you want is to relax. Over time, that constant pressure can make it difficult to sleep, leave you feeling exhausted but wired, or create a sense of burnout. By looking at the whole picture, I can help you gently rebalance your mind and body, so you can feel more calm, grounded, and restored.

  • Grief touches everyone differently. It can bring sadness, confusion, anger, or even numbness.

Loss changes how we see ourselves and the world around us. Sometimes, the hardest part is learning how to keep living while holding onto what we’ve lost. I can help you move through grief at your own pace and explore ways to find meaning, peace, and connection again.

  • Adjusting to a new culture can be both exciting and overwhelming.

You might feel caught between worlds, wanting to belong while trying not to lose parts of yourself. Language, customs, or different expectations can create stress, isolation, or self-doubt. I understand these experiences because I’ve lived them myself. I can help you explore ways to find balance between cultures, strengthen your sense of identity, and feel grounded wherever you are.

  • Hormonal transitions can deeply influence how we feel, think, and connect with ourselves. For those who notice mood shifts, irritability, or anxiety before their period or during midlife transitions, I guide you as you navigate these changes. Together, we can find balance, clarity, and a sense of calm amid the shifts in your body and mind.

Navigating fertility struggles can be painful and emotionally draining. It’s natural to feel doubt, guilt, or disconnected from your body. I hold space for you to process the grief, stress, and uncertainty that can accompany this journey, helping you reconnect with hope, self-compassion, and a renewed sense of strength.

  • The journey through pregnancy and early motherhood can bring both joy and unexpected emotional challenges.

I’m here to support you through the emotional changes, helping you find stability and a renewed connection with yourself and your baby. After difficult or traumatic birth experiences, I can help you rebuild a sense of safety and trust in your body, while honoring the deep sense of loss that can follow miscarriages.
